With a busy day ahead of me but still determined to keep up with my almost-daily art habit, I figured one solution would be to work in monochrome and with a single layer of watercolour. I, therefore, mixed some grey paint at different dilutions and used my ink pens to create a slightly wider range of tones through mark making. It’s a very simple drawing but I am glad I made the time to create it.
Looks just like you..Well not you but your art. You do have a style.
Thank you. I am always heartened when someone sees me as having a style that is identifiable as my own.
I love this. I love her glasses, her expression, and her unusual shape. And I like the top garment she is wearing. I think I could knit something like that. I also enjoy the subdued tones of the picture. Somehow it really emphasizes her face that way. I think this portrait is very successful.
Thank you very much. The top is based on one my Gran knitted for me when I was in my early teens. It created a sort of empire line form when worn over other things.
I like it too – the ‘real” color on the face and hands makes it really “pop”.
Thank you very much, Mary!
