This illustration was another experiment in combining different colours. I mixed a deep fuchsia shade by combining two pinks and then set that against a pale and sugary metallic pink and a yellow gold. I also used this illustration as a way to practice drawing hands. They are far too small in proportion to the face but I think I have made some progress with at least suggesting dimension to the hands. Ultimately, I like the fuchsia juxtaposed with the gold but I don’t like the sugary pink against the bolder pink colour as it looks insipid through comparison.
Really good face.
Thank you!
I really love the golden skin shade. It’s wow with the fuchsia. And, I like those expressive hands.
Thank you. I like the hands too but I was so focused on getting the shapes right that I got the proportions wrong. Ho hum. It is all grist to the mill of improvement.
Wow, hands are tricky but these ones look great! I like the colour palette too – I think the pinks look good together, at least they do on my screen!
Thank you very much for your comment about the hands. They have been my nemesis for a long time now so I am very focused on improving in that area. Although the proportions are way off, I am still pleased with the drawing of the hands.
What a great face!!!
Thank you!
