This is a “vintage” page in my Rainbow Art Journal. It is an illustration I created with the contents of an Art Snacks box some time back in the Summer of 2019. And doesn’t 2019 feel like even longer ago than it actually is? It is actually interesting to revisit older drawings and to observe areas of improvement. I think I am better at drawing faces in full profile now than I was back when I drew this. I really like that Daniel Smith Quinacridone Rose and think I shall use that again soon.

Thank you. I don’t think I would have put pink and yellow together had the subscription box contents not forced me to do so. I quite like the combination though.
And those particular shades of red and yellow work well. The hint of purple in the red I think does it.

I love pink and yellow. And what an arresting face you have created.
I can see many flaws in the way I’ve constructed that face but it’s actually really affirming to see a drawing I did not that long ago really and know that I’d do a better job now.
