  1. Love the image, Laura–everyone posed really well. Best wishes to all of you for a wonderful Christmas and a blessed new year. I really enjoy following your adventures, whether they be artistic adventures on your own or traveling with the guys.

    • Ha! I had to take scores of photos and this was really the only useable one. Even then, the strain is evident in my oldest son’s face as he tries to wrestle a wriggling cat. At least it’s an authentic portrait. There’s that.

Have a wonderful holiday season, Mike, and best wishes for 2018!

  2. Ha, ha! I too like the boys photo – didn’t notice the wriggling cat until you mentioned it though – went back for another look…. and yep, cat body language clearly stating ‘let me out of here!’ That’s cats for you 🙂 Happy Holidays Laura!

    • Thank you and Happy Holidays! Our cats are indoor cats and only get to explore the exterior of our property on leashes for short periods. They were, therefore, a bit discombobulated by the whole thing. Getting a photo of all four boys is often challenge enough so throwing the cats in to the mix was even more of an ordeal.

      • You are right. Incidentally, I just realised it today: I haven’t been taking the holiday well this year for some reason; and then it occurred to me that I’m doing it all wrong: rather than staring at the wall and trying to do things I don’t feel like doing, I should just hang out, colour my cat mandalas, paint something horrible with water colours, have a facial, paint my nails and otherwise spend time doing things that I’m normally too busy to do. Duh.

  3. Happy holidays, Picts! Hope you are all enjoying the Christmas break, and that you’ve managed to shake off the last of that nasty bug. I’ve just spent a very enjoyable time catching up on all the posts I missed in the madness of November and December! Now I’m looking forward to seeing where 2018 takes you… 😀

    • Thank you. We’ve had to have a very chilled break because, annoyingly, both Mr Pict and I are down with really nasty colds. I guess my immune system never recovered in time to ward it off. Still, at least it’s not anywhere near as bad as the flu and there’s worse things than being a hermit over Christmas break.
