This week’s Colour Me Positive theme was “Forward”. While it chimed neatly with my word for this year – Momentum – I chose to take a more illustrative route with my art journal page. The idea of being at the beginning of a path formed in my head immediately and, simply because I am an obsessive fan of alliteration, I decided that the character who should be setting forward on the path should be a fox.
I am pleased with my wee fox character. I can see him turning up again in my drawings. Drawing all the stones in the path was just like doodling imperfect circles and was very meditative. It’s a simple wee drawing but I like it.
Love it!
Thanks, Judith.
On our way back home we saw three foxes crossing the road right in front of our car! that’s the 4th fox we see tonight, he looks gorgeous 🙂
It’s like magic seeing a wild animal, isn’t it? We have foxes in our neighborhood too. We sometimes spot them in the garden. I love seeing them. I would prefer not to hear them screech at night though.
It’s wonderful! Love it!
Thank you!
Love this! Mr. Fox looks afraid but very very brave!
Thank you. I’m glad his sense of trepidation and uncertainty is clear.
Oh, I love your little fox character! He has heaps of personality… and those simple clean lines would translate so well into a sewn toy for a child 😀
I wish I had the sewing skills to do just that. I’ve often thought about what one of my zombie bunnies might look like as a toy. Sadly my sewing skills are limited to taking up hems and doing minor repairs by hand.
Sewing is like anything else… practice makes perfect! Although I’d say your days are already packed to the rafters as it is! Maybe one of the boys might be interested in taking on the challenge for you?
We are going to be sewing sock monsters this summer so I will assess their potential then. They can take over the hemming and repairs for me then. 😀
Hahaha, that’s a good idea… outsource your chores and enjoy more art time 😀
